This facility has been established in Tongaat KwaZulu-Natal to serve the following markets in the area:
- Foundry
- Tile adhesive manufacturers
- Golf courses and recreational markets
A number of long term clients located in KwaZulu-Natal have in the past being serviced from the Delf Sand mine. The new processing facility will reduce the cost and improve supply conditions as a result of being located near their operations and will at the same time exploit and serve the remainder of the market in the area.
The plant has been constructed and commissioned and is able to wash, screen, grade and dry high silica content alluvial sand under controlled conditions that will ensure consistency and quality of supply. The plant has a capacity of 95 000 tons per annum.
